Vaccine Schedule
New Puppy Health and Vaccine Schedule
We highly recommend scheduling a veterinary health visit for your new puppy within the first 3 days of bringing them home. This initial visit serves as a crucial step to ensure that you have received a healthy and happy puppy and establishes a smooth transition for both you and your new companion. While your first vet visit may not always require vaccinations because likely your pup will be recently vaccinated by us, please remember to bring along your puppy’s health records provided by Clay Acres Frenchies. These records will assist your veterinarian in setting up a comprehensive vaccination schedule for your puppy’s future well-being.
Supplement with NuVet Vitamins
To promote your puppy’s optimal health, we recommend incorporating NuVet vitamins into their daily routine. Just as humans take daily vitamins to maintain overall well-being, our furry friends can also benefit from this supplement. To order NuVet vitamins, please call 1-800-474-7044 and provide the order code #79652. Alternatively, you can visit the NuVet website directly using the following web address: NuVet Ordering Page.
DHPPC Vaccine Schedule for Puppies
At Clay Acres Frenchies, we follow a comprehensive vaccine schedule to ensure your puppy’s protection and health. Depending on the season, we may administer a neo-par shot when your puppy is 4 weeks old.
- 1st shot: 6-8 weeks – DHPPC
- 2nd shot: 10-12 weeks – DHPPC
- 3rd shot: 14-16 weeks – DHPPC & Rabies – Heart Wormer
- 4th shot: 18-20 weeks – DHPPC
- 5th shot: 1 year – DHPPC & Rabies
- Booster: Every 3 years
In addition to the DHPPC vaccine, there are other treatments recommended depending on your puppy’s age:
- 2 weeks: Deworming with Pyrantel
- 4 weeks: Deworming with Pyrantel
- 6-8 weeks: Deworming with Pyrantel, Microchipping
- 9-12 weeks: Deworming with Pyrantel, Fecal testing if not previously done.
Neuter or Spay Recommendation
Around 1 to 2 years of age, we recommend scheduling a neuter or spay procedure for your puppy. This is also an ideal time to begin heartworm control if you plan on traveling with your pet. The Rabies vaccine should be repeated in 1 year, followed by boosters every three years. Additionally, consider implementing a flea control method such as Bravecto, Simparica, Comfortis, or Frontline on a monthly basis to ensure your puppy’s comfort and well-being.
Your puppy’s health and safety are our top priorities, and this comprehensive schedule is designed to provide them with the best care possible. If you have any questions or need further guidance, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.
