Vaccine Schedule

🩺 New Puppy Health and Vaccine Schedule

Bringing home a new puppy is an exciting time! One of the best ways to protect your puppy’s health is by establishing a proper vaccination and wellness schedule right from the start.

📅 First Vet Visit (Within 3 Days)

We strongly recommend scheduling a veterinary health check within the first 72 hours of bringing your puppy home. This visit ensures a smooth transition and gives your vet a chance to evaluate your new companion’s health.

While your puppy may not need additional vaccinations at this visit (as we’ve likely just given one), be sure to bring the health records we provide you. These records help your vet set up the right schedule for future vaccinations and treatments.

 Daily Wellness with NuVet Vitamins

For optimal health and immune support, we recommend starting your puppy on NuVet Plus® supplements. Think of it as your puppy’s daily multivitamin—supporting joints, digestion, skin, and overall immunity.

We recommend continuing NuVet through the first two years of your puppy’s development to maximize their growth and well-being.

🛡️ DHPPC Vaccine Schedule

At Clay Acres Frenchies, we follow a structured vaccine plan to give your puppy the best start. Depending on the season, a neo-par shot may also be given at 4 weeks of age.

  • 6–8 weeks: DHPPC (1st shot)
  • 10–12 weeks: DHPPC (2nd shot)
  • 14–16 weeks: DHPPC (3rd shot) + Rabies + Heartwormer
  • 18–20 weeks: DHPPC (4th shot)
  • 1 Year: DHPPC Booster + Rabies
  • Every 3 Years: DHPPC & Rabies Booster

🐛 Deworming & Other Treatments

  • 2 weeks: Deworm with Pyrantel
  • 4 weeks: Deworm with Pyrantel
  • 6–8 weeks: Deworm with Pyrantel, Microchipping
  • 9–12 weeks: Deworm with Pyrantel, Fecal testing (if not already completed)

✂️ Spay/Neuter Recommendation

We recommend spaying or neutering around 12–24 months of age. This allows for full physical and hormonal development and supports long-term health. If you must do it earlier, consult your vet about the best time and dosage support (like NuVet) for faster healing.

🦟 Ongoing Prevention Tips

  • Flea & Tick: Monthly prevention such as Bravecto, Simparica, Comfortis, or Frontline.
  • Heartworm: Begin regular heartworm prevention by 16–20 weeks or as advised by your vet—especially if you plan to travel.

At Clay Acres, your puppy’s lifelong health is our priority. This schedule helps you stay on track for vet visits, immunity, and general wellness. If you have questions or need help with this plan, we’re just a message away!
