Going Home Instructions

🏡 Going Home Instructions

We’re so excited for you and your new Frenchie! Please read through these instructions carefully to ensure a smooth and healthy transition.

✅ Before You Go Home

1. Vaccinations & Travel Safety:
Your puppy receives their first shot at 6 weeks, with boosters at 8, 12, and 16 weeks. The rabies vaccine is given at 16 weeks. Please avoid dog parks, pet rest stops, and grassy areas during travel until your puppy is fully vaccinated. Bring a puppy pad if picking up in person. Their immune systems are still developing and are vulnerable to serious diseases like parvo until 16 weeks of age.

2. Order Your Dog Food – TLC All Life Stages:
We feed all our dogs TLC because of its all-natural ingredients, diverse proteins, vitamins, and probiotics. We recommend setting up autoship every 3 weeks.

3. Feeding Schedule by Age:
Establishing a routine helps with digestion, training, and consistency.

  • 8 Weeks: 4x/day – 1/4 cup per meal. Weight: 5.4–9.0 lbs
  • 12 Weeks: 3x/day – 1/3 cup per meal. Weight: 9.0–15.0 lbs
  • 16 Weeks: 3x/day – 1/3 cup per meal. Weight: 13.6–21.0 lbs
  • 6 Months: 2x/day – 1/2 cup per meal (or more). Weight: 21.3–35.5 lbs

Offer fresh water throughout the day, but stop access by 8:30 PM to reduce nighttime accidents. Always do a final potty break before bedtime.

4. Order Your Supplements – NuVet Vitamins:
We start all puppies on NuVet powder at 3 weeks and transition them to wafers by the time they go home. Just like Flintstone vitamins for kids, these provide nutrients that dog food alone may lack—supporting immunity, joints, and skin health.

  • 📞 To order by phone: 1-800-474-7044 (Use Order Code: 79652)
  • 🌐 Online: www.nuvet.com/79652

5. Microchipping:
Your puppy is microchipped, but it won’t be traceable to you unless you register with AKC Reunite.

Please do this promptly for safety and peace of mind.

6. Potty Training:
We recommend bell training! Hang a bell on your door and teach your puppy to ring it when they need to go out. Watch our short video for a refresher:
Potty Training Video.

7. Spaying/Neutering:
If possible, wait until 1–2 years of age to spay or neuter. This allows full physical and hormonal development, which benefits long-term health. Always consult your vet.
